A rising star at heavyweight, Jared Anderson is ready to show the world what he can do as a leading man. "The Real Big Baby" main events a Top Rank-produced card against Andriy Rudenko on August 26. 

Airing in the evening after Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois, the fight airs on ESPN+ in the U.S. It takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

A two-time U.S. National Championship gold medalist, Anderson (15-0) signed with Top Rank in 2019. The 23-year-old beat Vladimir Tereshkin in 2021 for the NABF heavyweight title and beat former IBF heavyweight champion Charles Martin via unanimous decision in July. Anderson's looking to improve his craft following that fight by competing in a quick turnaround bout. 

Rudenko (35-6) is 3-1 in his last four and won his last bout in January against Bojan Cestic. The Ukrainian has an impressive resume for someone like Anderson, having faced Lucas Browne, Hughie Fury, Alexander Povetkin, and Zhilei Zhang.

Kossobutskiy (19-0) turned pro in 2017. The Kazakh has won all but one of his fights via knockout. His last bout was a KO win against Hussein Muhamed in November. 


Bakhodir Jalolov vs. Onoriode Ehwarieme

  • Jalolov record: 12-0
  • Ehwarieme record: 20-2

Opening the main card will be Bakhodir Jalolov vs. Onoriode Ehwarieme.

A 2020 Olympic gold medalist, Jalolov (12-0) has won six gold medals at the amateur level. The Uzbekistani turned pro in 2018 and has won all fights via knockout. His last bout was a win against Curtis Harper in November. 

Ehwarieme (20-2) turned pro in 2010, and the Nigerian has 19 wins via knockout. After losing against Zhan Kossobutskiy in 2021, he has won two in a row, beating Jeff Holcomb via retirement in February 2022. 


Bruce Carrington vs. Angel Antonio Contreras

Bruce Carrington faces Angel Antonio Contreras on the ESPN+ undercard. 

Carrington (8-0) turned pro in 2021. The 26-year-old has already fought three times in 2023, beating Luis Porozo via TKO in his most recent bout, which took place in June.

Contreras (13-6-2) turned pro in 2016. The 29-year-old is 2-2- in his last four fights, losing his previous bout against Brandon Valdes in April. 


Nico Ali Walsh vs. Sona Akale

  • Akale record: 7-1

Also at the event will be Nico Ali Walsh vs. Sona Akale.

The grandson of Muhammad Ali, Walsh (8-0-1) turned pro in 2021. After winning four bouts in 2022, he has gone 1-0-1 in 2023, fighting Danny Rosenberger to a split decision draw in May.

Akale (7-1) turned pro in 2019. "Slink Proper" is coming off a TKO loss in June against Cameron Krael. 


Abdullah Mason vs. Cesar Villarraga

In lightweight action, Abdullah Mason faces Cesar Villarraga.

Mason (9-0) turned pro in 2021. The 19-year-old has won all but one fight via knockout and is competing in his fourth bout of 2023. He fought on the Anderson-Martin card in July, beating Alex de Oliveira. 

Villarraga (10-7-1) turned pro in 2013 and is 1-4-1 in his last six fights. On a two-fight losing streak, the 37-year-old last fought in April, losing to George Acosta via a unanimous decision scoring. 


Charly Suarez vs. Yohan Vasquez

A 2014 Asian Games silver medalist, Suarez (15-0) turned pro in 2019. The Filipino fighter has won nine fights via knockout, his last bout a TKO win against Paul Fleming in March.

Vasquez (25-3) turned pro in 2012. The 29-year-old had his six-fight unbeaten streak snapped against Adrian Benton in December. It was his first loss since 2017. 


Ablaikhan Zhussupov vs. Wiston Campos

Young gun Ablaikhan Zhussupov faces veteran Wiston Campos.

A three-time World Championships bronze medalist, Zhussupov (3-0) turned pro in 2020. He won his last bout in November, beating Demarcus Layton via TKO. 

Campos (33-11-6) turned pro in 2010 and has 19 wins via knockout. The 31-year-old is 2-3 in his last six and is on a three-fight losing streak. His last bout was a unanimous decision loss against Mark Reyes Jr. in June.
