Two years in the making, a rivalry comes to a head when Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall finally face off in a rematch.

Taylor and Catterall fought in February 2022 for Taylor’s then-status of undisputed super lightweight champion. The former got dropped in the fight, while both were dedicated points in a wild affair. Taylor won via split decision, with many, especially Catterall, calling that a controversial result.

Taylor is the -120 favorite per Bet MGM, but “The Tartan Tornado” isn’t dismissing Catterall’s skills. While not taking him lightly, Taylor believes he knows what the outcome will be by the last bell.

"It’s just a Josh Taylor win no matter what,” Taylor said when asked by Express Sport about the outcome. “Whether it is a points decision or whether it’s a quick blast or knockout. there’s a lot of bad blood between us. And no matter what, I would like to make it a very painful night for him.”

The two were supposed to fight a few times, but injuries on the part of Taylor and mandatory title defenses forced the fight to land in purgatory. Taylor was stripped of a few belts and lost the rest against Teofimo Lopez. Catterall, who won two straight following their fight, has waited patiently and is ready to prove he is the better man after all this time.

“We look at his last fight against Lopez; he got done off. I said it yesterday, and I say it again: I think he’s touched the ceiling, he’s on the decline. No mistake, I’ll be preparing for the best version of him. But do I think he’s reached his peak? I do,” Catterall said on the DAZN Face Off program via Yardbarker
