Boxing has had a resurgence in interest in the past year, and Canelo Alvarez is one of the major players in the sport. Can the Mexican warrior, at 33, still sell a fight?
Canelo fought Jermell Charlo inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, a familiar him. It was the first time Charlo has main evented a card at the venue, which is home to the Golden Knights hockey team and several UFC events. When Canelo fights, it generates a buzz. However, the attendance by the time of the main event made it seem otherwise.
The Sporting News' Andreas Hale was at the event, and there appeared to be a few empty seats before the main event. While it is not abnormal for boxing fans to show up before the main event, when Canelo vs. Charlo started, there were still open seats. However, fans did make their way to the arena just before showtime.

While the promotion for the fight did exceed expectations, is there a case of fatigue among boxing fans? Or was there another factor?
