College basketball's conference play brings out some of the fiercest rivalries in the sport, and Tuesday night was no exception for Big 12 foes Kansas and Kansas State.
The Jayhawks were well on their way to a comfortable home conference win before the game's closing moments turned awry.

With Kansas up 81-59, K-State guard DaJuan Gordon swiped the ball from KU's Silvio De Sousa, who was attempting to dribble out the final seconds of the clock. Gordon proceeded to race down the court for a last-second layup attempt and was instead emphatically swatted by De Sousa.
From there, De Sousa leaned in Gordon's direction to exchange words, immediately sparking a chaotic brawl. The full clip of the fight is below.

Both team's benches cleared with shoving and punches thrown behind the hoop. De Sousa even had a chair cocked over his head before having it snatched from behind.

"Well, obviously it's an embarrassment," Kansas coach Bill Self said after the game. "It's not something to be proud of. What happened showed zero signs of toughness."
The school also issued a postgame statement.

Tuesday night wasn't the first instance of last-second controversy in Allen Fieldhouse this season. In November, Monmouth guard George Papas also tried a similar steal-and-score sequence with his team down 55 points and was slapped with a technical foul for taunting.
This is one way to end a blowout 😳
