The Chiefs defeated the division-rival Broncos with ease on "Thursday Night Football," cruising to a 30-6 victory.
The win came at a price, though: Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a knee injury in the second quarter on a sneak. He remained on the turf after the play and pointed toward his right knee. He later walked to the locker room to be evaluated.
MAHOMES INJURY: Early indications say QB has dislocated knee, report says
The Chiefs ruled Mahomes out for the remainder of the game shortly after his exit. According to multiple reports, he suffered a dislocation of his right patella (kneecap). Mahomes will have an MRI exam Friday to determine the severity of the injury.
Matt Moore took over for Mahomes and kept the Chiefs (5-2) on track toward an easy win. Moore connected with Tyreek Hill on a 57-yard touchdown in the third quarter to put the Chiefs ahead 27-6 and prevent any further threat from the Broncos.
Denver (2-5) scored on its opening drive but was lifeless on offense the remainder of the game. Joe Flacco was sacked eight times and held to just 3.4 net yards per passing attempt, the same figure as the Broncos' rushing yards per attempt. Flacco also fumbled three times, losing one — on a strip-sack that Reggie Ragland returned for a touchdown.
