North Carolina State will face Kansas State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday, Dec. 28. The game will be televised by ESPN.

The Wolfpack finished the regular season at 9-3 and were ranked No. 18 in the final College Football Playoff rankings behind No. 15 Louisville and No. 16 Notre Dame. NC State has a chance to reach double-digit wins for the second time in program history.

NC State won its last five games of the season and Dave Doeren has qualified for a bowl appearance nine times in his 11 seasons as the head coach of the Wolfpack.

NC State linebacker Payton Wilson was named a 2023 first-team All-American and the 2023 winner of the Chuck Bednarik Award. Wilson is the fourth NC State linebacker to receive All-American honors, joining Vaughan Johnson, Levar Fisher, and Nate Irving, the last Wolfpack linebacker named All-American in 2010.

Freshman wide receiver Kevin “KC” Conception was named ACC Rookie of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year and was an All-League second team selection.

Kansas State won three of its last five games and finished the regular season at 8-4. The Wildcats will be playing in the state of Florida for just the seventh time and the first since a 28-24 victory at Miami on September 24, 2011.

Kansas State is one of just 11 Power 5 teams ranked in the top 30 in both scoring offense (37.8 points per game) and scoring defense (21.2 points per game).

Kansas State senior left guard Cooper Beebe is the first offensive lineman in school history to earn Consensus All-America status by being named a First Team All-American by the Football Coaches Association of America (AFCA).

Phillip Brooks finished his 2023 season as the only active player in the FBS with 1,000 receiving yards, 100 rushing yards, 800 kickoff-return yards and 700 punt-return yards in a career, while he joined TCU's KaVontae Turpin as the only two players in Big 12 history to reach those marks.
