Danny Amendola is the NFL's lone representative on season 33 of "Dancing with the Stars," but he's doing the league proud.

After the debut episode, in which he performed a tango to "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" by Shaboozey, fans were looking forward to what the retired wide receiver had to offer in the second week of the competition.

As the third out of 13 dancers on the night, Amendola's newest set of moves left viewers impressed. With gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, rugby player Ilona Maher and former NBA player Dwight Howard among the other athletes on the roster, Amendola has definitely established himself as a threat.

Here's everything to know about Danny Amendola's second DWTS performance, including how the Super Bowl champion scored on Oscars Night of "Dancing with the Stars."

The theme of the second episode of "Dancing with the Stars" was Oscars Night, which saw each couple dancing to iconic songs from films that have received Academy Award nominations. Amendola performed a jive to "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins from the original 1996 "Top Gun" soundtrack.

Fans of the show were quick to commend Amendola for his moves, complimenting his footwork, energy and stunts. The 38-year-old also showed more of his personality this week than last as he settled into his groove.

Though Amendola and his partner only fared one point better than last week's judges score, earning a 21, he impressed most viewers and proved he is very much in the mix.

Who is Danny Amendola's DWTS partner?

Joining Amendola on the dance floor is Witney Carson, 30, who rose to fame when she competed on "So You Think You Can Dance" as an 18-year-old in 2012. She finished third and joined DWTS in early 2013 as a troupe member before being promoted to a professional partner in season 18.

In Carson's second season as a partner, she won the whole thing while paired with actor and comedian Alfonso Ribeiro. She also earned a nomination for Outstanding Choreography at the Primetime Emmy Awards for her work that year.

The professional ballroom dancer has been married to Carson McAllister since 2016, and the couple have two children.

What NFL teams did Danny Amendola play for?

After a successful 4-year career at Texas Tech, Amendola signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys in April 2008. He was cut from the team and joined the practice squad, eventually bouncing from the Eagles to the St. Louis Rams before seeing the field for the first time in 2009.

He spent four years with the Rams before signing with the Patriots in March 2013. Over the next three seasons, Amendola would win two Super Bowls catching passes from the legendary Tom Brady. Following his successful stint with New England, the receiver headed to Miami on a two-year deal but was released by the team within one before spending the next two seasons in Detroit.

Amendola's final campaign would take him to Houston on a one-year contract in 2021 before he announced his retirement the following July.
