A'ja Wilson points tracker: Aces star passes Jewell Loyd for WNBA single-season scoring record image

Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson is turning in one of the best individual seasons in WNBA history.

Wilson, the back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year, has been the WNBA's presumptive MVP since the early stages of the 2024 season. In addition to her exploits on the floor with the Aces, Wilson was named MVP of the women's basketball tournament at the Paris Olympics.

To add to her growing list of accolades, the 28-year-old made history this season, as she will turn in the most prolific scoring season in league history by multiple metrics. Not only is Wilson's scoring average the highest in league history, she is also set to become the first WNBA player to eclipse the 1,000-point mark in a single season.

Here is where Wilson stands on her pursuit of history and how that compares to some of the other greatest individual scoring seasons in league history.

WNBA all-time single-season scoring list

In addition to being on the doorstep of the single-season record, Wilson is within 75 points of becoming the league's first ever single-season 1,000-point scorer. Wilson has appeared in 34 of Las Vegas' first 35 games and has five games to score 71 points, a figure she could easily exceed based on her scoring average.

An important fact to note for the all-time list is that the WNBA season was expanded to 40 games in 2023. Both of Diana Taurasi's most prolific scoring seasons came when the league had 34 games. For added context on varying season lengths, scoring average is also included in the table below.

A'ja Wilson career scoring average

Wilson's scoring exploits in 2024 continue a gradual increase since she averaged 18.3 points per game during the 2021 campaign. After leading Las Vegas in scoring with 22.8 points per game in 2023, Wilson has increased her scoring average by nearly five points in 2024.

Wilson is closing in on the 5,000-point mark and could soon enter the league's top 25 scorers of all time. All-time leader Diana Taurasi is still the only player in league history to eclipse the 10,000-point mark and continues to add to the tally in her 20th season with Phoenix.

WNBA all-time single-season rebounds

Scoring isn't the only thing that Wilson is known for. The other half of her being a double-double machine is her ability to clean up the glass. Wilson has the all-time single-season points record but also secured the all-time single-season rebound record. She surpassed Angel Reese in the second-to-last game of the season.
