It's a new era for Syracuse football with a new coach and blue-chip quarterback, which means the Orange's spring game will be televised in primetime on the ACC Network Extra on April 20 at the JMA Wireless Dome.
Former Georgia assistant Fran Brown takes over as Syracuse's head coach, succeeding Dino Baber, who was fired in November after compiling a 41-55 record over eight seasons. Brown is widely regarded as the nation’s top recruiter and was a member of the Bulldogs' 2022 College Football National Championship coaching staff.
The game will also feature the debut of former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord, who appeared in 24 games (13 starts) for the Buckeyes. McCord completed 270-of-406 passes in his three seasons at Ohio State for 3,776 yards, 27 touchdowns and just eight interceptions.
Brown was also able to lure former Texas A&M edge rusher Fadil Diggs to the program. Diggs appeared in 33 games (20 starts) and was a two-time team captain for the Aggies. He has 75 career tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, two pass breakups and a blocked kick.
Syracuse tight end Oronde Gadsden should also be available after suffering a season-ending Lisfranc injury he suffered in September.
