The second of the First Four games will take place between Virginia and Colorado State on Tuesday from Dayton, Ohio.

This First Four game is a matchup between the 10 seeds. The winner will face No. 7 seed Texas in the first round of the Midwest Region of the 2024 NCAA tournament bracket.

The Cavaliers are an at-large bid team, having lost to NC State 73-65 in an overtime shocker in the ACC tournament. Michael O'Connell of the Wolfpack hit a buzzer-beating 3-point shot in regulation to keep them in the game.

The Cavaliers finished this season in third place in the ACC conference with a 23-10 overall record and 13-7 ACC record. They're led by Reece Beekman, who's posting 14.3 points per game.

The Rams are also at at-large bid. They lost to New Mexico in the Mountain West semifinal, 74-61. Surprisingly, the Rams finished in seventh place in the conference, going 10-8 in conference play.

Isaiah Stevens leads the Rams, posting a team-leading 16.5 points and 7.0 assists per game this season. The Rams have four players averaging in double figures this season.

If the Cavaliers qualify for the tournament, it'll be their third tournament bid in the last four seasons. They won the NCAA tournament in the 2018-19 season, after losing in the first round a year prior as the No. 1 seed.

The Rams haven't been to the tournament since the 2021-22 season two seasons ago. Then, they lost in the first round as a No. 6 seed. Before then, it had been since 2012 they've made it to the dance.
