Top-seeded Connecticut is looking to become the first team to repeat as NCAA champions since Florida in 2007 and will battle No. 5 San Diego State in the round of 16 on Thursday, March 28 in Boston.
This is a rematch of last season's national championship game when the Huskies rolled to a 76-59 victory over the Aztecs, who were looking for their first-ever title.

UConn had a dominant 75-58 win over the Big Ten's Northwestern in the second round. Tristen Newton had 20 points and 10 assists, and Donovan Clingan finished with 14 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks. The Huskies became the first defending national champions to reach the regional semifinals since Duke in 2016. UConn shot an impressive 53.7% (29-of-54) from the floor, while holding Northwestern to 37.3% (22-of-59) shooting.
All three Big East teams that made the NCAA Tournament — UConn, Creighton and Marquette — advanced to the regional semifinals.
Jaedon LeDee had 26 points and nine rebounds, Darrion Trammell added 18 points San Diego State beat No. 13 Yale 85-57 win in the second round of the tournament on Sunday night. The Aztecs will be playing in the Sweet 16 in consecutive years for the first time in school history.
San Diego State forward Jaedon LeDee was named a second-team All-American by The Sporting News and Field of 68, a third-team honoree by the Associated Press and an honorable mention performer by the USBWA.
