Whichever team is lucky enough to land Colorado star Travis Hunter in the 2025 NFL Draft will automatically have a problem on its hands — where will the consensus All-American’s skills be of best use?

That’s the kind of problem most NFL teams would love to have, and Pro Football Network has the cornerback/wide receiver projected as the No. 2 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers in its latest 2025 mock draft.

From Pro Football Network: “Travis Hunter is the kind of talent you draft and then figure out where he plays later. The Panthers could use him at both wide receiver and cornerback. However, his rare separation upside and ball skills could play well particularly at WR with Bryce Young and Xavier Legette.”

According to ESPN, NFL scouts have begun to look at Hunter more as a wide receiver than at a cornerback. Playing offense would likely be a better move for Hunter financially, with average salaries for the NFL’s top wide receivers soaring past $30 million in the 2024 offseason.

Hunter will have already made millions of dollars by the time he gets to the NFL — On3.com has him as the No. 3 highest valuation for college football players at $2.7 million annually and he’s on the cover of the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 video game.
