Despite being the better team in their opening fixture against Serbia, Spain were unable to score and were eventually held to a goalless draw. Manager Luis de la Fuente will hope his team can do better against the Swiss.

Hosts Switzerland, meanwhile, looked like they too were headed for a goalless draw in their opener against Denmark, only to concede twice in the last 10 minutes of play for a 2-0 defeat.
