A pair of hot seats meet on Monday night.
The NFL is reaching coach-firing season, and Brandon Staley and Mike McCarthy are both standing on less-than-tenable footing at the moment. The Cowboys head coach recently got another vote of confidence from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, which may be less of a show of support and more of a warning of being watched.

In any case, McCarthy's team has slowed after a hot start, and were handed a brutal loss in Week 5, when they were "humbled" by the 49ers. That could mean that the coach is edging onto perilous ground once more.
On the other sideline, Staley has been a talking point of both football traditionalists and nerds since he took the job in 2021. The in-game decisions have been often come to the forefront for predominantly bad reasons, a trend that has followed him into 2023.
While no one is in danger of losing their job yet, a "Monday Night Football" loss for all to see might turn the dial up just a bit for one of the two.
