Norfolk State is the top seed for the 2024 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament scheduled for March 13-16 at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va.

The Spartans are the defending conference tournament champions and clinched the 2023-24 regular-season title, going 13-1 in the conference. Norfolk State finished the MEAC regular season with a 92.9 winning percentage, setting a school record for the best winning percentage in program history since joining the MEAC in 1998-99.

Norfolk State will play No. 8 seed, South Carolina State on Wednesday, March 13 beginning at noon.

Howard finished the regular season 10-4 in the MEAC and clinched the No. 2 seed. The Bison were the only team in the MEAC to defeat the Spartans, keeping them from a perfect conference record. Howard will take on No. 7 Morgan State, finishing with a conference record of 3-11. 

North Carolina Central secures the No. 3 seed, finishing with a conference record of 9-5. NCCU will take on No. 6 Delaware State for the final quarterfinal game on Thursday, March 14 beginning at 2 p.m. The teams split the series in the regular season. DSU defeated the NCCU 75-64 in overtime in their previous meeting.

Coppin State clinched the No. 4 seed on a conference tiebreaker against Maryland Eastern Shore, which fell to the fifth seed. The matchup will be the third meeting between the Maryland rivals in the past five seasons in opening round of the conference tournament.
