After a pedestrian, 28-14 season-opener against Western Michigan las week, the Wisconsin Badgers are set to host the South Dakota Coyotes at Camp Randall Stadium this Saturday.

The Badgers are hoping to have an above-average season this fall since coaching transitions have put them in a rebuilding phase the past two years, but some new competitors joining the Big 10 might make it difficult.

In his debut as quarterback for the Badgers, transfer Tyler Van Dyke finished 21 of 36 for 192 yards with zero interceptions, but was sacked and fumbled in the fourth quarter. Running backs Tawee Walker and Chez Mellusi did their part and helped the squad secure the win, but not nearly by the margin they were expecting.

On the other hand, South Dakota is coming off of a 10-3 record last season, and a definitive 45-3 win over Northern State last week. Experienced returning quarterback Aidan Bouman and running backs Charles Pierre Jr. and Travis Theis will be a force on offense. The pair of RB's combined for 25 carries, 222 yards and three touchdowns in their last game.

The Coyotes are currently ranked as one of the best teams in the FCS, but will they hold up against a program like Wisconsin? The Badgers will need this win if they want to go into next week's matchup against Alabama with any confidence.
