Rohan Bopanna ranking update: Indian doubles star rises to World No 7 image

After an encouraging run at Wimbledon 2023, Rohan Bopanna climbed to World No 7 in the ATP doubles rankings, his best ranking in a decade.

Bopanna and Matt Ebden of Australia reached the semi-final of the Championships, which concluded on Sunday. The final four finish saw the Indian doubles star rise five places in the doubles charts.

At 43, Bopanna is the oldest player in the top-10 of ATP doubles rankings. He had achieved a career-high of World No 3 in July 2013.

He had started the year at No 19 in the world. But the Indian has struck a fruitful partnership with Ebden. So far this season, the duo has won two titles -- in Doha and Indian Wells Masters. By winning his first Indian Wells Masters title in March, Bopanna became the oldest ATP Masters 1000 champion in history.
