Hockey India, on Monday, announced the squad that will represent the Tricolor at the Asian Champions Trophy 2023 in Chennai.
The tournament will be played between August 3 to August 12 and will feature six of Asia's top hockey teams. All the matches will be played at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai.

The Asian Champions Trophy will also serve as a preparatory tournament for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games in September 2023. The performance in Hangzhou will determine India's qualification at the Paris Olympics next year (2024).

The 18-man squad for the Asian Champions Trophy has been announced. Defender Harmanpreet Singh will be the team captain, with midfielder Hardik Singh being his deputy.

Craig Fulton admits that the squad has a unique blend of youth and experience, and the selected squad has the potential to express themselves at the Asian Champions Trophy.
“We have carefully chosen a squad that has the potential to go on and give a good account of themselves Hero Asian Champions Trophy Chennai 2023.” Fulton said.
"The Indian Men’s squad selected for the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy in Chennai has a blend of some youth and experience. The players selected are excited at the opportunity and look forward to playing in front of their passionate home fans,” he added.
