The dog days of summer are looming, and when NFL fans are not spending time in the blazing heat, they're yearning for more football content. Fear not, for the answer to July boredom is on its way in the form of "Receiver" on Netflix.
By the creators of "Quarterback," "Receiver" follows five prominent wideouts throughout the 2023 season and showcases their lives beyond what everyone sees on Sundays. Insider looks are always appreciated, and the players chosen for this series will provide some serious entertainment.

What is Netflix's 'Receiver' series?
The series is a documentary-style show that will detail each player's experience in the NFL throughout the 2023 season. Each has a different storyline and belongs to distinctly different franchises, giving the stories a bit of diversity.
Peyton Manning executive produced the docuseries, and he spoke to Netflix about the show in mid-June:
“As we did with "Quarterback," we look forward to telling the stories of five incredible receivers, each with their unique personality, skill set, and motivation for what drives them to be the best,” Manning said.
NFL Films, Omaha Productions, and Patrack Mahomes' 2PM Productions, the creative team behind "Quarterback," worked to produce the show. Four wide receivers and one tight end are featured in the series.
“We were thrilled last summer to see audiences all over the world diving into the lives of NFL quarterbacks,” NFL Films supervising producer Joe Zucco told Netflix. “We believe the extraordinary skills, dedication, and passion of the NFL’s great wide receivers — and one tight end — will make a perfect follow-up.”
How many episodes is 'Receiver' on Netflix?
"Receiver" spans eight episodes, all of which were released at once on July 10.
Fans can watch the entire season before training camp and the preseason to get started ahead of the 2024 season.
