The 27-year-old Akash had made his Test debut during the 4th Test match against England earlier this year, where he picked up 3 wickets in one inning.

While he has picked up only 5 wickets in his two Test matches so far, he has impressed both the fans and experts alike due to his impact with the ball in both the matches.

Against Bangladesh, he was instrumental in providing India with early breakthroughs in the first innings, where he also rooted the stumps of Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque, with the new ball.

What did Akash Deep say about learnings and experience from working with Jasprit Bumrah during Bangladesh Test series?

Akash was speaking in an exclusive interview with Times of India, where he has asked to share insights from experience of working with India's star pacer and arguably one of their most important players.

The pacer revealed that he had learnt a lot of things about mindset while bowling to certain batters as a fast bowler, adding that Bumrah is a gifted and knowledgeable bowler, who thinks a lot about the game.

"I regularly talk to him and observe his bowling. Woh bilkul alag hain; bhagwan ne unhe alag hi banaya hai [He is totally different; God has made him different]. He is such a knowledgeable person, and that reflects in his bowling. His ability to read a batter before he bowls is amazing. He is a gifted bowler, and it’s not easy to follow in his footsteps."

"I take a lot of tips from him and have learned a lot. I discussed 'mindset' with him and once asked him about the mindset while bowling to a particular batsman. He provided me with valuable tips and answers to my query," he added.
