The World Weightlifting Championships 2023 will take place at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from September 4-17.
The competition acts as the first qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The other qualifying tournament for the Olympics is the IWF World Cup in Thailand.

As many as six Indian athletes will be seen competing in the World Weightlifting Championships 2023.
Mirabai Chanu, Achinta Sheuli, Ajith Narayan, Bindyarani Devi, Shubham Tanaji Todkar, and Gurdeep Singh make the Indian contingent for the tournament.
Notably, Mirabai will only be for the weigh-in as she aims to keep away from any injury, considering the all-important Asian Games in Hangzhou is scheduled later in September.
