Who is Brandon Starc?
Brandon Starc is a 30-year-old athlete, born in Sydney, New South Wales. Like his elder brother Mitchell, Brandon too played cricket and football as a kid. However, he decided to pursue the high jump as a sport, too early in his life.
Considered a prodigal talent, Starc won his first medal (silver) as a high-jumper at 16, at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Besides being a National Champion, Starc also bagged a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2018.
The younger Starc most-recently represented Australia in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. He has already been to two Olympics prior - Rio De Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2021.

Which event did Brandon Starc compete at the Paris Olympics 2024?
Brandon Starc competed in the Men's high jump event at the Paris Olympics 2024. Representing the Oz, Starc failed to make it to the final of the event by the most nominal margins.
Starc jumped his highest of 2.24 metres and was tied at second place in Group B, alongside four other athletes. However, he missed out on the final spot after finishing sixth in his group. Starc missed out based on the number of turns taken to record the highest tally.
The NSW-born athlete took seven attempts in total, to reach the tally of 2.24. He crossed the 2.24 metre mark in his second attempt but failed to jump 2.27 metres in three attempts.
