Aaron Rodgers makes his long-awaited return to MetLife Stadium tonight as the Jets host the Patriots on Thursday Night Football.
Rodgers has looked strong in two games since returning from last year's season-ending Achilles injury, which limited his maiden voyage with the Jets to just four snaps. The 40-year-old quarterback threw a pair of touchdowns, including the game-winning score, in Sunday's 24-17 victory over the Titans.
New York's defense, which bounced back after a rough Week 1 showing, is banged up heading into a short week. Rising defensive end Jermaine Johnson is out for the year with an Achilles injury, while veteran linebacker C.J. Mosley (toe) and stalwart defensive back D.J. Reed (ankle) are each battling nagging injuries.
New England (1-1) had a 2-0 start within its reach but failed to execute late in a 23-20 overtime loss to the Seahawks. A blocked fourth-quarter field goal and failed third-down conversion in overtime are two of the mishaps that will haunt the Patriots.
Nonetheless, New England's defense looks stout under first-year head coach Jerod Mayo. Journeyman quarterback Jacoby Brissett will look to create more offense in Week 3.
Here is everything that you need to know as AFC foes clash as the Jets and Patriots tango on Thursday Night Football.
