The Kentucky Derby is the pinnacle of horse racing, and, thus, it's a huge honor to be selected to the race's annual broadcasting crew.
The voice of the Kentucky Derby is incredibly important considering the race lasts just two minutes, but given the seemingly all-day coverage, there's plenty of air time for NBC's announcers to fill.
As with any sporting event, the lead voices can affect viewership. People are more likely to stay tuned in if the broadcast team does its job well. A poorly prepared group or harsh voices can cause the at-home audience to mute or even change the channel.
That likely won't be the case for the Kentucky Derby, as the lead voice remains the same for the 14th straight year.
Here's the full list of announcers on the NBC broadcasting crew.
