Floyd Mayweather isn't wasting much time in returning to the ring.

The welterweight champion plans to fight again on Sept. 13, ESPN.com's Dan Rafael reports. The who and the where are still being nailed down

Marcos Maidana, whom Mayweather (46-0, 26 KOs) defeated in a unification bout on May 3, could get a rematch.

"He's definitely in the mix," said Leonard Ellerbe, chief executive of Mayweather Promotions, told Rafael. "He's a very dirty fighter. He used a lot of dirty tactics, but Floyd handled him easily and he gave the fans a great fight. But there's a long list of opponents. Everybody wants to be in the Floyd Mayweather sweepstakes. Several guys have made it clear they want to be next."

What about Manny Pacquiao? No. Not even mentioned in Rafael's report. Ship sailed a long time ago. Rafael lists more realistic options: junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia, welterweight champ Shawn Porter and interim title holder Keith Thurman.

As for the venue, Las Vegas is, of course, the favorite. Mayweather doesn't stray from the MGM Grand. Ellerbe, though, expects the folks at Brooklyn's Barclays Center to make a big bid. They tried hard to get the Maidana fight, too.
