As we enter Week 4 of the NHL season, the race for the 2014-15 Stanley Cup remains wide open with no outstanding favorite, and odds posted in Las Vegas have seen little movement since the puck dropped.
The Blackhawks (5-2-1 after Sunday) remain on top of the oddsboard at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, while 11 other teams are priced at 20-to-1 or less.
The Bruins (5-5-0), who opened as the second betting choice, saw their odds slightly extend from 7-to-1 to 8-to-1. The Bruins are now tied with the reigning Stanley Cup champion Kings (6-1-1) and Penguins (4-2-1), whose numbers have remained unchanged since the season started.
The Sharks (5-4-1) and Canadiens (7-1-0) each saw their prices shortened during the earliest part of the season, while further down the oddsboard, the Islanders (6-2-0) and Predators (5-1-2) saw greater adjustments. The Islanders' odds were shortened to 40-to-1 after opening at 60-to-1, while the Predators shrunk to 50-to-1 after opening at 75-to-1.
The winless Hurricanes (0-5-2) had their odds adjusted to 300-to-1 after opening at 200-to-1, while the Flames (5-4-1) also had their odds extended to 500-to-1 after opening alongside the Hurricanes at the same odds.
