Domenik Hixon injury update: Bears WR announces ACL tear image

After suffering a torn ACL for the third time in his career, Bears wide receiver Domenik Hixon appears ready to leave the NFL.

Hixon announced the injury on his Facebook page (via USA Today's Mike Garofolo):

"I tore my ACL today for the 3rd time today! I'm disappointed that I won't be playing for a bears team that has the players and coaches to WIN the Super Bowl. I thank God for letting me live my dream of playing in the NFL for 8 years plus. It has truly been FUN! ‪#‎blessed‬ ‪#‎lovethisgame‬," Hixon said.

Hixon, 29, signed with the Bears in March after playing last season for the Panthers. He previously played for the Broncos and Giants. He was a member of the Giants' Super Bowl-winning teams in 2007 and 2011.

Hixon has 109 career receptions for 1,460 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has a kick return TD and a punt return TD.
