Seeking improvement in his shooting, North Carolina's Nate Britt will have a hand in a major adjustment. Specifically, his right.

Britt is switching shooting hands, according to Fayetteville (NC) Observer. He is using workouts before his sophomore season to adjust from being a left-handed shot to using his right.

The change is made easier, according to the report, because Britt showed ambidextrous ability as a prep school standout.

"He practiced shooting 3s with both hands," Oak Hill Academy coach Steve Smith wrote in a text. "His shooting form is much better right-handed."

As the Tar Heels point guard last season, Britt was a so-so outside shooter. According to Sports-Reference.com, he hit 36.7 percent of his field-goal attempts, but only 25 percent of his 3-point shots. Read it: 3-of-12 from behind the arc.

He also shot 79.4 percent from the free-throw line. He was at his best in big games, including 7-of-8 at Michigan State and 6-for-6 against Duke.

Coach Roy Williams showed confident last season in letting Britt run the offense as a freshman. Improved shooting should make Williams even happier.

A likely reason why Britt is pushing to improve? The Heels have a Marcus Paige, Luke Davis, Stilman White and incoming freshman Joel Berry to challenge Britt, the Observer noted.
