After posting a 23-win season, Brad Brownell has a new six-year contract, Clemson announced Friday.
In four seasons with the Tigers, Brownell is 74-58 and 32-36 in the ACC with an NCAA Tournament appearance in his first season in 2010-11 and a trip to the NIT semifinals last year.
“Brad has done a tremendous job building a solid foundation for our basketball program,” Clemson AD Dan Radakovich said in a statement. “I have the utmost confidence in Brad to continue to build as we compete in the nation’s best basketball conference. We’re excited we have him lead our program into the future for a long time to come.”

Clemson had its best season in the ACC last year, finishing 10-8 in league play that included a win over Duke and a one-point loss to the Blue Devils in the ACC Tournament.
“I am thrilled to be the head basketball coach at Clemson and take great pride in the many accomplishments of our players on and off the court,” Brownell, 45, said in a statement. “I look forward to building on the success of this past season and believe there is a great deal of positive movement within the program.”
Before arriving at Clemson, Brownell won 84 games in four seasons at Wright State from 2006-10, and won 83 games in four seasons at UNC Wilmington (2002-06).
