If you just heard a giant sigh of relief coming from somewhere in the Midwest, here's why: Royals right-hander Yordano Ventura's MRI came back clean, and he's expected to miss only one start.
That means no need to mention ol' Tommy John in the same breath with the fireballing 22-year-old.

The news was made public by Kansas City general manager Dayton Moore, who was appearing on MLB Network on Tuesday afternoon.
Ventura's 100 mph fastballs have made him a budding star. He was removed from Monday night's loss to Houston with discomfort in his right elbow. The Royals were hopeful that his injury was not to a ligament because it was on the opposite side from where those injuries are typically felt.
He is 2-5 with a 3.45 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 10 starts.
