Howard Kendrick, say hello to Yoenis Cespedes' throwing arm.

Clutch play, too. Cespedes' heave helped  preserve a tie in the eighth inning of Tuesday's A's-Angels game in Anaheim. Alas, the A's lost, 2-1, in 14 innings.

Baseball people had an easy and immediate comparison: Bo Jackson's throw from the left-field corner in Seattle a generation ago.

Bo's is still better, because Reynolds was the winning run in the ninth AND Jackson threw it from the track.

Now, if you're looking for throws from RIGHT field, there's Vladimir Guerrero's strike in New York in 1997 ...

... And the Pirates' Jose Guillen's rocket launch at Coors Field a year later:

There are countless other eye-popping throws in baseball lore (Roberto Clemente, Dave Parker, Rick Ankiel, Ichiro, etc.), but Cespedes' was a thing of beauty on its own.
