Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg has a confession to make.
He once enjoyed eating cat food as a kid.
Sandberg made his initial admission as part of the in-game video where members of the team were asked about the weirdest thing they'd ever done, but a local radio station further grilled him on the snack he used to purr-fer.
“I did that as a youngster, maybe four or five-years-old, maybe six-years-old," he said.
He, still, to this day, couldn't tell you why.
"I don’t know. I guess I was hungry. I still remember the crunchiness of it was the biggest thing. This wasn’t a one time thing either. This went on for about a year as a little snack,” he confessed.
The Phillies poked fun at their manager via Twitter on Saturday.
@Cut4 @Friskies We would like to say there is no cat food right meow at Citizens Bank Park.

Earlier this month, Sandberg claimed he got food poisoning from Citi Field's Shake Shack. So uh, really makes you wonder what was in that cat food, huh?
