KANSAS CITY, Mo. — White Sox slugger Jose Abreu will continue to rest his inflamed left ankle after an MRI exam showed no structural damage.
The 27-year-old rookie left Saturday's game against Houston with a limp in the seventh inning. He was placed on the disabled list Sunday.
White Sox manager Robin Ventura characterized the results of Monday's MRI exam as "good news," but declined to provide a timetable for Abreu's return.

The club opened a three-game series in Kansas City on Monday night.
In other news, left-hander Chris Sale played catch before the game and planned to throw a bullpen session Tuesday. He's been on the DL since April 22 with a left flexor muscle strain.
Sale says he feels good but does not know when he'll be back.
