現地12月8日（日本時間12月9日）、ニューヨーク・メッツがブランドン・ニモと契約合意に達したことをMLB公式Twitterが報じた。
ESPNのジェフ・パッサン記者によると8年1億6200万ドル（約220億3200万円／1ドル136円換算）とのこと。

現在29歳のニモは2011年ドラフト1巡目（全体13位）でメッツから指名を受け入団。ここまでメッツ一筋で608試合に出場し、打率.269（1973打数530安打）、63本塁打、213打点の成績を残している。
今シーズンは151試合にすべて中堅として出場し打率.274（580打数159安打）、16本塁打、64打点の成績。シーズン終了後にフリーエージェント（FA）となったが、メッツと再契約することになった。
