Cody Rhodes looks to “finish the story” after failing to capture gold at WrestleMania 39 last year. Winning the Royal Rumble match for the second year in a row, Rhodes officially put WWE Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns on notice. They face off in a rematch at WrestleMania 40.
On night one of WrestleMania 40, Rhodes and Seth "Freakin'" Rollins lost against Reigns and The Rock. As a result, it will be "Bloodline Rules" on night two, meaning anything goes.
Rhodes lost against Reigns last year but built his way back up to becoming a true fan favorite. Some have called him the new face of WWE. Crediting Michael Cole for the “finish the story” catchphrase, Rhodes has seen those words spread like wildfire. “The Grandson of a Plumber” has reflected and sees the term "finish the story" as something unique, similar to what he has done in the past.
“I actually talked to Triple H about this a few weeks ago. When I said the game was using ‘finish the story’ as a theme and I see (Hulk) Hogan talking about his story, Undertaker talking about his story, Steve Austin talking about his story. I felt like, oh, I’ve done something,” Rhodes said on Busted Open Radio via TJR Wrestling.

“I think the last thing that felt like it spread like wildfire a little bit was ‘Bullet Club is fine’, and that was fun, you know… being able to name FTR and those guys. That was a fun deal, but this seems to be on a whole other level.”
