After it was held behind closed doors in front of a virtual audience last year,  WWE Royal Rumble  will be back in front of fans in late-January 2022.

The event will emanate live from The Dome at America's Center in St Louis, Missouri.

The two biggest matches on the card will no doubt be both the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches, but there are also two huge world title matches on the show.

Here is everything you need to know about  WWE Royal Rumble 2022.

WWE ROYAL RUMBLE 2022 MATCH CARD AND RESULTS

WWE Universal Title: Seth Rollins def. Roman Reigns (c) via DQ. Reigns retains the title due to champion's advantage and beats down Rollins after the match.

Ronda Rousey returned to win the Women's Royal Rumble match, last eliminating Charlotte Flair. It's the former UFC champion's first appearance with WWE since WrestleMania 35.

WWE Raw Women's Title: Becky Lynch (c) def. Doudrop in a solid match to retain the title.

WWE Title: Bobby Lashley def. Brock Lesnar (c) to become the new WWE Champion. Roman Reigns interfered while the referee was down, attacking Lesnar and costing him the match.

Edge/Beth Phoenix def. The Miz/Maryse in a mixed tag match. The Hall of Fame couple hit tandem Glam-Slams to pick up the pinfall victory.

Brock Lesnar won the Men's Royal Rumble, entering in the No.30 spot and last elimating Drew McIntyre.

WHEN IS THE 2022 ROYAL RUMBLE?

The 2022 Royal Rumble will take place on Sunday 30th January (AEDT), which is of course Saturday night in the US.

It is the second PPV event of the calendar year and kickstarts the 'Road to Wrestlemania'.

WHERE IS THE 2022 ROYAL RUMBLE?

This year's event will be back in front of live fans, with the event taking place at The Dome at America's Center in St Louis, Missouri.

The arena holds approximately 40,000 fans for basketball games, which could likely see more fans in attendance for a pro wrestling show.

Last year's  Royal Rumble  was held without fans due to the pandemic, while the 2020 event was held at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, where the attendance was 42,715.

WHAT TIME IS WWE ROYAL RUMBLE 2022 IN AUSTRALIA?

WWE Royal Rumble  is expected to begin at 12pm (AEDT) here in Australia and run for at least three hours.

The pre-show will begin at 11am and run for one hour.

WHAT IS THE ROYAL RUMBLE?

The headline match of the  Royal Rumble  event is of course the Royal Rumble match itself.

Two superstars will start the match, and at regularly-scheduled intervals (usually 90 seconds or 2 minutes) another competitor will enter. This continues all the way until No.30.

The aim is to throw your opponent over the top rope, onto the floor where both feet must hit the ground to constitute an elimination.

The last competitor standing will be crowned the winner and move on to face the champion of their choosing at WrestleMania
