The outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been charged with stalking, making sexually coloured remarks, harassment and intimidation in court after months of protest by India's top wrestlers.
However, the charge under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) has been dropped by the police due to a lack of corroborative evidence.

On Thursday, Delhi Police submitted two sets of documents to two different courts. While the first set of documents had a 1000-page charge sheet detailing their investigation into the overall allegation, the second set was a shorter one in the case of the minor complainant.
After getting assurance from Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur of a thorough investigation into the sexual harassment allegations, last week, the dissenting wrestlers, which included Olympians Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia decided to suspend their protest.

Malik, though, had threatened that they would resume their protests if strong action is not taken against him by June 15 as the government had assured the wrestlers that a charge sheet will be filed by mid-June.
