The ad hoc panel of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has reduced the upcoming Asian Games 2023 and World Championship selection to a one-bout competition for the six protesting wrestlers.
Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Sangeeta Phogat, Satyawart Kadian and Jitender Kinha will have to compete in just one game where they face the winner of the trials in their individual categories to qualify for the Asian Games 2023.

They have also been promised that the one-bout trial will be held between August 5 to August 15.
The wrestlers who have been protesting against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, had requested the Union Sports Ministry to allow them to appear for the trials in August and the ministry has now obliged them.
The ad hoc committee will conduct the trial on July 10 without the protesting wrestlers to select the contingent for Asian Games. The last date to send the names for Asiad is July 15 but IOC has requested the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) to extend the deadline to August 15.
