Caitlin Clark is still in the midst of her senior season at Iowa. But she's already impacting the 2024 WNBA MVP odds.

In the week before her senior day, in which the Hawkeyes' star is on pace to become the all-time leading scorer for NCAA Division I, Clark declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft. In doing so, she cleared up any questions about her future and created a ripple affect across the basketball universe.

The 22-year-old is one of the most electrifying players in the sport. She is leading college basketball with 32.2 points and 8.7 assists per game, and she could become the first NCAA Division I women's player to finish the season atop both categories.

With 3,650 career points and counting, she is just 18 shy of passing Hall of Famer Pete Maravich for the most in NCAA history.

As Clark prepares for one final postseason run with Iowa, though, the WNBA is already feeling the ripple effects of her draft declaration.

Has a rookie ever won WNBA MVP?

There is only one rookie in WNBA history to win MVP: Candace Parker in 2008.

Parker was taken No. 1 overall in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. The future Hall of Famer wasted no time in making an impact at the professional level.

In her rookie season, Parker dominated, averaging 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.3 steals per game. She took home MVP and Rookie of the Year while also finishing fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
