French Open prize money 2022: How much will the players earn? Total purse, breakdown for field image

The French Open - tennis' second Grand Slam major of the year - starts on May 22 as the world's best players square off on the clay surface at Roland-Garros in Paris.

In addition to lifting the La Coupe des Mousquetaires (men's singles champions) or the Suzanne-Lenglen cup (women's singles champion), competitors will also share in an increased prize money pool in 2022 - after COVID-19 saw the total purse decline in 2020 and 2021.

The Sporting News looks at the total purse for the French Open 2022 and how it is broken down among events and their different rounds.

*All figures are in Australian dollars.

What is the French Open total prize money for 2022?

After two COVID-19 affected years where the total prize money was set at $66.37 million (2020) and fell further 12 months later to $60.94 million (2021), the French Open 2022 total purse is $66.80 million (€43.60 million).
