The San Antonio Spurs and six-time All-Star Pau Gasol have agreed to a contract buyout, paving the way for him to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The timing of the buyout is significant, allowing Gasol to be playoff-eligible for Milwaukee.

Gasol has appeared in only 27 of the Spurs' 63 games this year despite being fully healthy the entire season.

He was listed as inactive for a 26-game stretch during the middle of the season and received a "DNP - Coach's Decision" in five of the Spurs' last seven games.

Gasol has had the lowest level of production in his 17-year career, averaging just 12.2 minutes per game. He is posting 4.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in those minutes, all career-lows for the future Hall of Famer.

He'll join a Bucks team that is poised to make a run to the NBA Finals with a league-best 47-14 record.

Gasol will compete with the likes of forwards Ersan Ilyasova and D.J. Wilson for playing time off the bench.
