The Sacramento Kings will be without rising star De'Aaron Fox for up to a month.

The team issued a statement that Fox suffered a sprained left ankle in practice and will be re-evaluated in 3-to-4 weeks.

According to ESPN's Zach Lowe, a teammate stepped on Fox's foot at the end of practice.

This is a tough loss for the Kings, who have already gotten off to a slow start in the 2019-20 season. With a 3-6 record, they will now be without their starting point guard who was averaging a team-high 18.2 points and 7.0 assists per game. He was shooting 43.0% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc, while also averaging 4.0 rebounds per contest.

In his absence, look for backup point guard Cory Joseph to assume a starting role, with guard Yogi Ferrell and forward Bogdan Bogdanovic receiving an uptick in playing time.
