The Philadelphia 76ers have dropped two straight and now will be without their All-Star point guard for the next week.

Per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Sixers 23-year-old All-Star point guard is likely to miss the team's next three games due to a sprained AC joint he suffered in a loss to the Jazz.

Philadelphia is set to close out its Western Conference road trip with a visit to Denver to take on the Nuggets Saturday before returning home to host the Charlotte Hornets and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Should this timeline for his return to action hold true, Simmons will miss each of the above games and should eye the Sixers Nov. 14 meeting with the Orlando Magic as a potential return.

It's tough timing for the 76ers, who just saw All-Star centre Joel Embiid return to the lineup after serving a two-game suspension for his role in an altercation with Minnesota Timberwolves centre Karl-Anthony Towns. As the injury limited Simmons to just 10 minutes against the Jazz, the team will likely have played just four of its first 10 games with both members of its All-Star duo.

Through seven games this season, Simmons is averaging 13.1 points, 6.9 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game – figures that were negatively impacted after he exited with just two points, two assists and a rebound against the Jazz.

After winning its first five games of the season, Philadelphia has dropped two straight and will look to get back on track in Denver without its All-Star guard.
