Achanta Sharath Kamal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran progressed to the second round of the World Table Tennis Championships, which is being held in Durban, South Africa, on Sunday.
The second day of the tournament saw Sharath Kamal and Sathiyan competing in the men's singles as well as doubles category.
Sharath Kamal beat Austria's David Serdaroglu 11-8, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-6 in the round of 128 while G Sathiyan beat England’s Tom Jarvis 11-9 11-8 7-11 11-2 15-13 13-11 11-6.
The Indian duo then teamed up for doubles and defeated Egypt's Mohamed Shouman and Mohamed El-Beiali 11-6, 11-9, 11-6 in just over 16 minutes.

In the women's singles category, India's highest-ranked woman paddler Manika Batra had beat Algeria's Lynda Loghraibi (Alg) 11-8, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-6 in the opening round on Saturday.
