Indian table tennis sensation Manika Batra cruised into the round of 32 at the World Table Tennis Championships with a convincing victory over Singapore's Wong Xin Ru on Tuesday.

The world number 39 comfortably defeated her 171st-ranked opponent with an 11-9, 14-12, 11-4, 11-8 in the second round, ensuring the best singles result for India in the history of the competition thus far.

Batra showcased her skill and determination on the table, leaving little room for her opponent to challenge her dominance and win in straight sets, securing a well-deserved victory.

However, both Achanta Sharath Kamal and G Sathiyan bowed out of the competition in the round of 64. Kamal lost to 33rd-ranked Korean Lee Sang Su in straight games with the scoreline reading 11-4, 13-11, 11-8, 12-10.

Whereas Sathiyan faced a tough challenge against the formidable world number nine, Dang Qiu of Germany, resulting in a 6-11, 6-11, 5-11, 7-11 defeat on Tuesday.

While their singles journey may have come to an end, Sharath Kamal and G Sathiyan will have an opportunity to redeem themselves in the men's doubles pre-quarterfinal, scheduled for Wednesday.

They beat the Hungarian-Danish team of Bence Majoros and Anders Lind 11-5, 11-4, 15-13 in a round of 32 contest on Monday.

Sathiyan has also progressed to the mixed doubles pre-quarterfinals partnering Batra and will face the Swedish pair of Truls Moregard and Christina Kallberg after beating the Brazilian pair of Eric Jouti and Luca Kumahara 8-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6.
