Indian badminton star PV Sindhu will next be seen in action at the 2023 Sudirman Cup, which will be held in Suzhou, China from May 14 to 21.
Sindhu, who has slipped to No 12 in the world rankings, is hoping to get her season back on track during the biennial mixed team event. She will spearhead the Indian squad, which also includes the likes of HS Prannoy and men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.
Indian have been drawn to play in Group C, along with Malaysia, Chinese Taipei and Australia.

It has been a tough few months for Sindhu, the only Indian woman to win two Olympic medals. During her gold medal run at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Sindhu picked up a stress fracture in the left foot during the tournament.
After a five-month injury layoff, she started the long road back with two first-round defeats, at the Malaysia Open and the India Open.
“When you make a comeback, just the confidence to get down there and play your best… it takes a lot of time. I’m happy that I have (given) my hundred percent,” the 27-year-old said before the India Open.
Sindhu gathered some momentum later in the season, as she reached the final of the Madrid Spain Masters in April. With the Asian Games in the horizon, Sindhu will be hoping to get some wins under her belt.
