Indian surfers Ajeesh Ali and Ramesh Budhilal had an impressive first round outing on day 2 of the 2023 ISA World Surfing Games in El Salvador as they made it through to the repechage.
While Ali recorded a best score of 2.50, Budhilal who is being considered one of the most complete young surfers in the world, recorded a score of 2.0.

India are among four countries that made their debut in the 2023 ISA World Surfing Games. The other three debutants are Czechia, Latvia and Mauritius.

A total of 294 surfers from 63 countries are participating in the competition in a bid to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On day 1 of the tournament, India's Sivaraj Babu became the first surfer from the country to compete in the World Surfing Games.
