India's misfortune continue in the ongoing Sudirman Cup 2023 as they lost their second consecutive match in the competition on Monday against Malaysia in Group C.
On the opening day, on May 14, India went down against Chinese Taipei 1-4. Other than the pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand in the women's doubles category, all other Indian shuttlers lost their matches.
On Day 2, May 15, India lost Malaysia, this time without winning even a single match.

With their defeat on Monday, the Indian contingent is now officially out of the competition, as only the top two teams in the group qualify for the next stage. Since Malaysia and Chinese Taipei have already won their first two ties, they will progress to the quarterfinals.
