Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen qualified for the round of 16 of the Canada Open 2023 in Calgary on Wednesday.
Seeded fourth in the women's singles category, Sindhu comprehensively beat Canada's Talia NG 21-16, 21-9. Sen, on the other hand, defeated Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn 21-18, 21-15.

Sindhu will next take on Japanese shuttler Natsuki Nidaira in the next round while Sen will square it off against Brazil's Ygor Coelho on July 6.
Among the other Indian players, in the Men's doubles category, the pair of Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala entered the second round with a straight-game win over Chen Zhi Ray and Lu Chen of Chinese Taipei. The pair will next face second seeds Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan.
Unfortunately, Ruthvika Shivani Gadde and B Sai Praneeth were eleminated from the tournament as they lost in the very first round.
