The Ostrava Golden Spike is set to be held on June 27, 2023, in the Czech Republic, with fans excited to see some of the best athletes compete with one another to stake claim on the trophy.
However, unfortunately for Indian supporters, Javelin ace Neeraj Chopra will not be participating in the tournament though he was earlier scheduled to take part in it.

Neeraj is currently nursing a muscle strain he suffered during training last month, which led to his withdrawal from the FBK Games in the Netherlands on June 4 and the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland on June 13. The 25-year-old also skipped the recently concluded National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar.
But, the star athlete who is currently ranked no.1 in the men's javelin throw rankings by World Athletics, will most likely recover in time to participate at the Lausanne Diamond League 2023.
The men’s javelin throw event at the Ostrava Golden Spike 2023, however, will still feature prominent javelin throwers such as Grenada's reigning world champion Anderson Peters and Jakub Vadlejch, the silver medallist from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
